CNI Network is working with our local projects to be ready for life beyond the CoronaVirus situation. As and when the nation moves on from lockdown we are keen to see our volunteer teams equipped and ready to serve those who are or could become vulnerable in the new reality. It is likely that pubs, clubs and restaurants (that mostly make up the night-time economy) won't be open until the Autumn / Winter or even 2021 - so our teams will be pioneering, ready to adapt and develop new ideas to serve our communities.
Document - CNI Network Sample CoVid-19 Policy:
Daytime Street Angels as people tackle loneliness, struggling mental health and want opportunity to connect and chat with others (both volunteers and public).
Connect with pub and club managers and staff on social media to offer support and opportunity to chat as they wait in limbo for business to re-open.
Look at setting up Community Angels model to work in high vulnerable communities offering support and encouragement - see Guildford Community Angels and Scarborough Community Angels for some ideas.
Increase patrols around high-risk suicide areas to be available such as train stations and bridges and put messages of love around these areas
Partner with other organisations, church communities and statutory bodies to be part of a wider community response.
Set up a befriending scheme (this is best done as an organisation and working with external organisations to connect with those who would welcome this scheme).
