CNI (Christian Nightlife Initiatives) Network is the organisation that resources and supports initiatives working within communities at night.
Through work such as Street Angels, Town Pastors, Club Angels, Festival Angels, Street Chaplains, Bus Angels, etc we have supported communities to take to the streets, pubs and clubs and as a result local areas have become safer and nicer places and communities transformed from binge to better.
As an umbrella organisation we rely on donations from local projects, individuals and through fundraising events and speaking to groups about our work. We have a staff team of two with a vision to see more communities supported to run street, club and festival work, share our story to as wide an audience as possible and to increase the work we do in schools and to young people around alcohol and safety.
CNI Network is a national voice that speaks as one for our one hundred and twenty five linked projects. We often contribute to national talks around alcohol, binge drinking and the night-time economy. We regularly speak to the media about our work which helps celebrate and promote what the church and volunteers are doing within our communities. We have been awarded The Big Society award as well as a MBE for the founder and several awards at a local level. We also organise conferences and update a blog and social media with news from across the Network.
In 2013/14 we achieved all that we did with just over £40,000 (including running a national conference which trained and equipped volunteers to look at wider issues within the night-time economy such as human trafficking and supporting people who are wanting to move away from the binge drink culture). Moving forward we want to increase our staff team so we can do even more to support and resource local areas to make night-time communities safer. Any amount will help - together we can make the difference!
